Tamela Gibbs, a Huntsville, AL native, is Owner and President/CEO of WaveLink, Inc. Her technical career experience runs the spectrum of Information Technology-- from Database Developer and Administrator, Software Trainer and Curriculum Developer, System Administration, Network Administration, Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning to Information Security and Cyber Security. Additionally, she has worked as a consultant and previously served as Vice President of a small startup. She holds a BSBA in Management and a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems from UAH. Tamela is active as a community volunteer and serves on the Board of Directors of several local non-profits. Currently, she is President of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Business Council. She is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County’s Management Academy Class 2, and a graduate of Leadership Class 26. In 2012 she was named the HASBAT (Huntsville Association of Small Businesses in Advanced Technology) Professional of the Year. Tamela is married to Paul with whom she has two daughters.
Paul A. Gibbs
Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Gibbs began his career in the engineering program at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Working as a co-op student for a local contractor, he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1989. After obtaining his degree and while employed full time as a defense engineer, he achieved a Masters in Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, with a concentration in electro-optics in 1994. Since that time Paul has worked in many areas of engineering, all supporting our nation’s defense at Redstone Arsenal. He is a Subject Matter Expert in Sensor and Countermeasure systems, Avionics System of System Architectures (SOSA), and Software Integration / Interoperability.
He has 28 years of experience in software / systems engineering, sensor and weapons integration, and test & evaluation, spanning the Aviation (CMWS, ATIRCM, CH-47F, UH-60M, AH-64E, ARL-E) and Missile (M270A1 and HIMARS launchers, Army TACMS Block I / IA missiles, and Guided MLRS) segments of local industry. Paul lives in the Huntsville, AL area, has been happily married to Tamela, his wife of twenty six years, and is the proud father of two daughters.
Vice President of Programs
Chris Jackson currently serves as Vice President, Programs for WaveLink. He is a native of Huntsville and has provided information technology and engineering support to Department of Defense and NASA customers at Redstone Arsenal for over 29 years.
During his career, Chris has managed multiple large-scale software development projects and infrastructure support teams. His business experience includes managing personnel, schedules and budgets for government contracts and commercial projects with staffs in excess of 300 direct employees, over 200 subcontractors and dollar values of over $500M.
Chris has also directed Business Development activities including capture and proposal teams on multiple Federal procurements for the United States Army, Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force, Navy and NASA’s Marshall space Flight Center.
Chris holds a BSBA in Management Information Systems from UAH and a Master’s Degree in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is active in many Huntsville community organizations, has served on the board of HASBAT, and is currently Chair of the Marshall Small Business Executive Leadership Team. He and his wife Teri have 3 children.
Human Resource Manager
Candice Thrash began her career in the United States Air Force, where she served on active duty for 10 years as a Personnel Specialist. Since leaving the military in 2006, she has worked in the Government Contracting Human Resources field. Candice joined the WaveLink team in 2014 as Manager of Human Resources where she is responsible for managing all aspects of the Human Resources. Her duties include recruiting top talent, providing guidance on current HR legislation and topics, administering company personnel programs, policies and procedures, overseeing and managing company benefits, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations. Candice additionally serves as assistant Facility Security Officer.
William Jack (Bill) Boone, III
Mr. Boone attended Millsaps College from 1963-1965, received his Bachelor degree in Mathematics in 1967 from Mississippi State University, and received a Master of Business Administration in 1978 from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. His early career was in Flight Operations with NASA Johnson Space Flight Center from 1967-1983. He participated in the Apollo missions as a Flight Dynamics Officer, including all the Lunar Landings and Apollo 13. On Skylab, he integrated the solar physics science into the overall flight plan and on the early Shuttle flights, he was a Payload Officer.
In 1983, Mr. Boone left NASA to work as a technical manager. He then began a career in Business Development utilizing his communication skills, creativity, and business savvy. He worked with several companies, crisscrossing Texas, Colorado, California, and Alabama. In 2005, Mr. Boone retired as Director of Business Development for Lockheed Martin. Mr. Boone then worked as an independent consultant for several aerospace companies prior to joining WaveLink, where he assists with strategic development, identifying new business opportunities, and leveraging relationships for long term success.
Mr. Boone resides in Huntsville, Alabama, with his wife, Rebecca.
Cyber & Enterprise IT SME
Mr. Joe Savage is a seasoned professional working as a Subject Matter Expert in Cyber Solutions and Enterprise IT design, implementation and management. A Birmingham, AL native, he holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from Alabama A&M, as well as a number of professional certifications such as MCSE. His background encompasses a wide variety of hardware, software, network engineering, server applications, programming languages and protocols. Over the past few years he has worked on biometric engineering projects, the end-to-end system design and implementation of a knowledge management and decision support tool, designed an integrated access control system, and has performed analyses of acquisition and lifecycle logistics value streams and associated data quality. More recent projects have involved developing plans for Risk Management Framework compliance for government customers, conducting DFARS compliancy baselines and gap analyses, Security Hardening, and implementation Remote Monitoring/Intrusion Detection systems.
